The 'Flight of the Hurricane' airshow in 2016 saw the recently restored Hawker Hurricane make its debut and astound the crowd with a formation display alongside Temora Aviation Museum’s Mk VIII Spitfire. This brought tears to the eyes
of grown men as two of WWII’s most iconic machines took to the skies together for what was likely to be the first time ever in Australia.
We are excited to announce that 'Warbirds Over Scone' in 2018 will include an appearance by a Focke-Wulf 190. This will mark the first time ever that this impressive German fighter - and once backbone to the Luftwaffe’s Fighter Force - has shared the skies with a Hurricane in the southern hemisphere. Both aircraft are the only airworthy examples of their kind in Australia and to bring them together is really something special.
There is something for everyone with Paul Bennet Airshows displaying world renowned aerobatic flying in the highly manoeuvrable Wolf Pitts Pro, skydiving displays, amusement rides for kids, food stalls, military aviation memorabilia, merchandise and adventure flights available all weekend.
The spontaneous ‘Flight of the Hurricane’ in 2016 brought 5,000 spectators with only five weeks of planning so we are expecting greater numbers for ‘Warbirds Over Scone’ 2018. Local businesses are being encouraged to
hold complimentary events on the Saturday and Friday nights, for the flying fans who will be flocking to town.
